Moving inventory checklist

Before the first box

List destination rooms with a mover code and floor. Finish that list before packing. A box without a destination is how “MISC” eats a weekend.

Decide open-first boxes now: kettle, sheets, toiletries, meds, chargers, kid comfort, pet food, tools to assemble beds. Those boxes should be obvious on the truck and in the inventory.

What to photograph

Anything you would be angry to lose, anything with a serial, and anything that looks like junk but is not (bag of bed bolts, TV stand hardware). A spread photo of a table of small items is faster than twenty individual shots if your system can split them.

You do not need art-gallery photos of every towel. You need a catalog you can search when someone asks where the passports went.

Export before moving day

Export CSV or PDF the night before. If phones die and the site is unreachable, a printed room-sign packet and a spreadsheet still route boxes. Treat connectivity as optional on the day.
